Content Warnings aren't just for shocking or disturbing content.

They're for anything where it's unclear whether people want to see it right now, for example film spoilers.

Some people also use them for telling jokes, with the punchline revealed by clicking the warning open.

@feditips they're for being triggered by people not using it for stuff like: AI Art, Animals, Things with eyes, sarcasm, things in general, everything

@lerk
I know there's kind of a weird culture in fedi where people use content warning for everything, lol :blobcatgiggle:
I try to be more reasonable with my use of CWs......

There's a "weird culture" in fedi where people tell everyone to use CWs for everything *they* don't want to see instead of using *their* filter settings.

Maybe we need a "hide all media by default" setting to please that kind of people...

@lerk
You can't expect everyone on the internet to behave in ways you want. Sometimes the internet is like a dumpster fire, trust me there are lots of crazy shit on there. Luckily for us most people here usually put CWs where necessary, but we shouldn't take advantage of that and say we need CWs for every little thing. There is already a filter words setting in mastodon, and in Friendica its much better because you can click to show the post if you want, so its more akin to CWs.

@lerk
This is the Friendica feature I talked about - wiki.friendi.ca/docs/network_f

Mastodon have a similar feature, except the filtered posts are not click to show like in Friendica.
@feditips

@futureisfoss wow that really is a lot better.

Are the regexes run on the server on client side only?

@feditips

@lerk
I didn't understand your question properly, but all of these features are available from the web UI of Friendica itself.
