Do you have a WordPress blog? Did you know you can connect it to the Fediverse?
✅ There's a WordPress plugin which lets people on Mastodon (and the rest of the Fediverse) follow, share and comment on your blog. It's called ActivityPub For Wordpress and you can get it from here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/activitypub
The author of the plugin is @pfefferle

@feditips @pfefferle Thanks for this! I have tried it on my blog, but when I try to follow, it never accepts (Mastodon shows a "cancel follow request").
There is also https://fed.brid.gy/ which I haven't tried yet.
Oh no, maybe @pfefferle can give advice?
@pfefferle @feditips Sent you a DM. Thanks for being willing to take a look at it!
@scully @feditips @pfefferle Nope, it's at the root at https://changelog.complete.org
@pfefferle @scully @feditips I don't really know. It's a single-author blog so it's a little odd to be looking at individual accounts anyhow. MAYBE this setting, though it seems more for posts than users?
@pfefferle @scully @feditips Yep, understood, that's fine with me since it's a single author blog anyhow.
Can I just say this is SO cool to see users and authors casually chatting to make sure the software works properly?
@feditips @pfefferle @scully Yes it is! Appreciate @pfefferle jumping in on this!
(And do feel free to let me know if there's anything else I can do to help track down the problem - it would be great to get WordPress working in the Fediverse!)
@pfefferle @scully @feditips This patch fixes the issue for me: https://github.com/pfefferle/wordpress-activitypub/pull/105
@scully @pfefferle @feditips Download https://patch-diff.githubusercontent.com/raw/pfefferle/wordpress-activitypub/pull/105.diff, then go into the activitypub directory in Wordpress, and run patch -p1 < /path/to/105.diff and you'll be set.
@scully @pfefferle @feditips He just merged it into the tree, so I imagine a new release will be forthcoming soon.
@scully @pfefferle @feditips 0.11.0 uplodaed 2 minutes ago, have at it!
@feditips @pfefferle Thanks for this, made a blog post to link to the info. But linked to the feditips account as part of the information credit.
Is there a video anywhere (maybe on peertube) that illustrates the process of installing the plug-in please.
It may be helpful to anyone less techy or non techy and not familiar with the fediverse to install and start sharing with everyone here.
@feditips @pfefferle It works perfectly!
