Mastodon includes a system for verifying website ownership. This is useful if you want to prove your identity.

βœ… To verify site ownership, go to Edit Profile > Appearance > Profile Metadata. Add your website address (including https://) to the metadata, then paste the verification code into your website's own code, then click "Save Changes".

If you've done this correctly, the address on your profile metadata will turn green with a tick next to it.

@feditips @riku so it appears that fedi does have a verification system.

@feditips I still can't get this to work properly as Write As strips out the rel="me" tag.

I understand why this happens so I think there needs to be a 2nd way to do this, maybe some sort of manual override given my mastodon profile and personal journal blog are linked to each other anyway.

@zleap

Maybe simplest solution would be if @write_as stops stripping out the tag?

@feditips I try to verify my blog, but I can't do it. Instead, I verified my pixelfed account with no problem.πŸ€”
