For the 40th anniversary of the science-fiction convention I ran, I was looking up some of the names from the guest list that I didn’t remember. Spider Robinson, no need to look him up, Charles Brown, Dean Ing, John Varley, no problem remembering them. Damon and Kate were the parents of the best man at our wedding. Lou Goble, huh, I’m meeting for drinks with another Willamette professor this afternoon. Geoff Simmons…holy shit…

The Wikipedia page on him mentioned you might remember him, but I did not realize you were in Eugene in the early 80s!
I worked at Gandalf’s Den, the fantasy & science-fiction book/game shop downtown at the Atrium from 79–83.
@darrelplant Wow. I visited that place many times -- we probably passed by each other often!
For most of those years, the only people working there were Mike and Lee (the owners) and me, so more than likely I rang up whatever you might have bought.
