#Linux installation day! I have this old laptop where I had #LinuxMint installed already, but recently I got a SSD for it, so I'm reinstalling the system. #LinuxMint #XFCE again, because it is solid and without unnecessary complications.
It has a 5th gen Core i5, 6GB DDR3 of RAM and its new disk is a 240GB SATA SSD. And it has a touch display!
OK, this is getting weird. The install screen has been stopped for more than one hour at the LVM config step.
I dont' think that is a SSD issue, because I had this same SSD in another machine without problems. Hmmm... I think I'm going to abort the installation and try again.
(I checked the ISO sha256sum previously, so I don't think it's the installation media, but let's try with another pendrive.)
Well, the issue was that I had a bad disk partitioning. I deleted all the partitions with #Gparted and it was smooth sailing. I decided not to use LVM because the SSD is relatively small (240GB) and I don't plan to move or resize partitions, but maybe I should reconsider because of snapshots.
Anyway, I'll be checking how it works and will post if I decide to reinstall again .
