Today’s Shopify irritation: I send stickers with a plain old $0.73 stamp, but my art prints require more expensive shipping if I want to ensure they don’t get creased in transit.
If someone orders a print AND stickers, there is no way to tell Shopify that I will combine them into the same package unless I pay for the $300/month plan. Surely this is a fairly basic scenario?
(The basic Shopify plan is $30/month btw, so this is a huge difference)
@molly0xfff Surely someone can come up with a filter or something? It's open source software I think?
@josgeluk i was perfectly happy to write some code to do this for me, but in order to set custom shipping rates you have to buy the expensive plan!
@molly0xfff @josgeluk you might not need the custom shipping rates functionality for this. Maybe you can do a work around with a discount. I have tinkered around with custom Shopify apps a bit in the past years. If you want I can have a look and see if there’s a custom code solution without needing to upgrade your Shopify plan. Hard to say without more info. Feel free to send me a more detailed description to canolcer@hey.com
@molly0xfff @josgeluk so the issue is that if somebody orders both products, they get the summed shipping price?
@molly0xfff @josgeluk what if you set a shipping price based on total order price? I guess not perfect but better than nothing?
