Had a fabulous day of today in the White , . Conditions were perfect. Had the snowshoes on from the car to the summit and back. More pics to come!

Here is one of the picturesque treats I experienced on my way up to the summit of the mountain yesterday. A gorgeous section of frozen . Most of the 80 feet (24m) tall was covered with snow, but this section was not covered, exposing its beauty.

Beauty was abound when I snowshoed up a mountain earlier this week. While the views at the summit of nearby mountain peaks/valleys were beautiful, so were the small features at my feet. Check out the rime ice that formed on the boulders. This ice forms in windy fog and points into the wind as it is forming.

This was my view earlier this week as I began my descent down the mountain and dropped below the tree line. It was much steeper than the pic shows— needed to proceed carefully on my snowshoes. Had to say goodbye to the views of the nearby mountains as I disappeared into the forest!

Here is a peaceful scene from last week’s adventure in the White of . I had been snowshoeing for 3.5 hours and had only seen one person. I was completely alone in my thoughts being one with ! So wonderful!

the ridge of a mountain gives nonstop great views. This was my view when I snowshoed up to this ridge last month in the White , . I’ve hiked long sections of this ridge in the past, but only went a short distance this time. So great to be up there!

@PizzaHot
Such a reward for the long hike up on snowshoes! 😀

@intrepidhero
Yeah, I hung out at the summit for an hour just enjoying the great views!

@TimKStanton
Great photos! Keep them coming — makes me jealous! 😊

@RunRichRun
Thank you! Yes, more to come!! 😀

@onelin
My words exactly when I got to this summit! 😀 ⛰️

@hikingdude
Yes, I took this pic at the summit of the mountain. Beautiful views in all directions of neighboring mountains!

@TimKStanton Trails look like they are in nice shape. Which peak?

@snowpackjack
Yes, the snow on the trail was deep and packed— perfect snowshoeing conditions from the trailhead to the summit. This was Falling Waters Trail which took me up to the summit of Little Haystack Mountain.

@TimKStanton
Ahw that sounds like a great day! I'm a little bit jealous 😉

@hikingdude

Winter hiking is the best! I love having the mountain to myself! 😀 ⛰️

@TimKStanton Such a special and marvelous range and trail.

@gecole
Yeah, I can’t get enough of the Whites! 😀 ⛰️

@TimKStanton
At least I feel a bit like being in the mountains now.
Thank you!

@TimKStanton @elperronegro
Ohhh nice. I don't have that here so often. But I imagine it to be really beautiful

@hikingdude

It's wonderful being up there. The "catch" is that it is quite an effort getting up to the ridge with snow-covered trails. For my speed of snowshoeing, by the time I got up to the ridge, it was better for me to turn around and backtrack on the trail that got me there. Others, who were faster hikers, were able to continue and hike a nice section of the ridge before looping back on a different trail.

@elperronegro

@TimKStanton It looks like a trap! Don’t go any closer. 😉
