@Extra_Special_Carbon Wasn't there a survey a few years ago that found a majority of Americans thought New Mexico was, well, part of Mexico?

New Mexico Magazine had a column called "One of our Fifty is Missing" for quite a few years citing hilarious stories of people who thought NM was not a state. In fact, our car license plates read "New Mexico USA" because a lot of people do seem to think we're not part of the US!
