boosts appreciated)
I feel that with all these corporate actions currently being taken, a whole new movement is about to start.
The entire Reddit and Twitch communities are revolting, and smaller projects like Invidious are being attacked as well, yet they stand their ground.
Corporations do not care about their users, they just want to harvest data and make money.

I feel that this all will spawn a movement of people moving to alternative services which aren't controlled by these companies. A movement of people promoting the use of #FOSS software made by people which actually care.
I feel that the events which are currently happening could change big parts of the internet for the better and long-term.
And sincerely I hope that projects like #PeerTube, #OwnCast, #Kbin and other FOSS fediverse projects become more polished and widespread.

When these platforms grow in users, they also grow in development effort. Not only by the original maintainers, but also developers which might not have known about these projects before.
I hope that these projects thrive, become the best they can be and commit themselves to being user-first and respecting everyone's right to #privacy.
I hope these platforms become the golden standard for how to treat your users.
@Rush Would love your specific thoughts on how to improve Owncast!
@owncast I think that primarily, especially the smaller platforms on Fedi struggle with explaining what Federation means in our case, just like Masto did when it became popular.
Though I believe that on OwnCast - Primarily due to the fact that the directory exists - there isn't much need for improving this any further
I'd change the `z-index` CSS property of the "LIVE" badge on the dir. though, it is overlapping some content when scrolling on Mobile (Firefox) :P
@Rush “The people are revolting!”
“You said it, they stink on ice.”
