This is Piel Castle, which lies at the southern tip of Piel Island, in Morecambe Bay. It was built by monks in the C14th as a sort of fortified warehouse. I only saw it in the distance, from a neighbouring island.
@RickGaehl got used briefly for something royal many centuries ago? Or that might be another island ‘castle’

Lambert Simnel stayed there en route to his unsuccessful attempt to seize the English crown in 1487. Is that it?
