I love a visit to some temperate rain forest. Even in winter, the mosses, lichens, and tree ferns make it a predominantly green environment. Nationally, it's a very rare and precious type of ecosystem, but we are lucky to have quite a lot of it around the fringes of Dartmoor.

@RickGaehl “mosstodon” love it. I am no expert but I think some areas of wales that haven’t been grazed would also be temperate rainforest. Certainly some pockets of woodland around Llyn Padarn have the same mossy feel as your photograph.

I believe there are, indeed, pockets of temperate rainforest in Wales.
