If I get up really early in the summertime, turn left out of my house, walk about 50 metres, and then look back, this is what I might see.
Of course, this all depends on it being a sunny morning, with a light mist, but the oak trees and the lane between them are always there...
This is a writing prompt if I've ever seen one.
Gorgeous!

Still there. Just still.
Canada, who promised to plant, my golly, 2 billion trees, because theyre increasing oil sales and they care
#Climate chaos, global warming, has dried out the forests across four time zones in the polar nation, and so far this year, Canada has burned 26 Billion trees.
16.4 million hectares. 16 million hectares is an area 400 kiliometers, by 400 kilometers. The distance from Amsterdam to Berlin, from Berlin south to Italy, over to Lyon, back to Amsterdam.
@kevinrns
I've planted 250 trees this year, but sometimes it just feels like pissing into the wind...
Good, is good.
Survival, is building all the solar and wind energy needed to make carbon fuels redundant.
Survival may mean closing it all down, agreeing on ending carbon at speed.
for both building solar and planting trees we can attribute greater value to well maintained installations. planting 2 billion trees that will later burn down aren't worth as much as a billion that are planted and cared for that don't burn. and solar panels that turn into ewaste are similarly worth less than high quality installations.
all this is to say that planting a small number of trees the right way is worth more than just that number of trees.
@RickGaehl @kevinrns we all get that feeling sometimes - Jane Goodall helps to put things in perspective
@RickGaehl @kevinrns wow, that must have been an experience to remember!
@RickGaehl Stunning. So envious. Wonderful photo.
