Even after all these years, you still need to pay a something-something to the cops for their kharcha-paani, when they come over for passport verification. I still don't understand why they need to conduct police verification in the age of the Aadhar card. I hope these archaic systems and practices change soon.
So. I applied for passport renewal from a makeshift Passport Seva Kendra last Friday, and I received my new passport today!
Here's the timeline of events: The police verification happened on Saturday, the passport was printed and sent via speed post on Monday and it reached me today!
To receive a normal passport within 6 days in India is like winning a lottery! Big kudos to the Cochin RPO! Well done
