Interracial marriage (Loving v. Virginia)
Contraceptives (Griswold v. Connecticut)
Not be sterilized w/o consent (Skinner v. Oklahoma)
Make decisions about your child's education (Pierce v. Society of Sisters)
Have gay sex (Lawrence v. Texas)
To same-sex marriage (Obergfell v. Hodges)
Alito makes it very clear that they're gunning for these, too.
There's a lot to be done to keep this from happening.
But for now...fuck these guys.
Ok, so what can we do?
Legislatively, we can demand Congress codify the rights in Roe. This would almost certainly mean the end of the filibuster, as well. We all know the Dems are loathe to actually do this, but with the end of abortion access in many states coming in two months, they have to protect their phony-baloney jobs.
The president can and should issue executive orders to strengthen FDA regulations on access to abortifacient pills. He could even lease federal land to abortion clinics to bypass state law.
If so inclined, these state-level abortion laws could be challenged on 9th amendment grounds (or even 1st amendment religions grounds), and it looks like there might be some movement in that direction.
