Nurse here with my take: It's not uncommon to develop a bladder infection after a prostate procedure. Often older people don't have clear symptoms until things get bad. Or maybe he tried to ignore them after the uproar over his previous hospitalization.
In either case, a course of IV antibiotics should fix things up.
Of course I'm just making an educated guess, but it's probably not time to panic.
