Is there a #HamRadio #Madtodon that insists on csllsigns? That seems like it would be a good addition to the #Ham #Fediverse
@Lorry I got subtooted the other day by someone who was being snarky about putting call signs in profiles. "tHaT's bAd OpSEc!!!! Did you know you can look up anyone's call sign and get their address?"
I can't imagine what a callsign profile field for everyone would do to that guy's brain.
@robotfactory I was kinda thinking of it from the #security point of view - If I am talking about #AmateurRadio then I have to talk about it from this account, and at some point mention my #callsign... Whereas if I am on a #HamRadio instance, and only using my callsign then I am relatively "anonymous" in that it's harder to link me and my callsign.
