When did it become so acceptable to pass on the right on the highway? Even when passing on the left would be just as easy? I don’t remember it being this bad before Covid but not sure.
Almost got killed on the highway today by someone doing this, so it’s bugging me

I see it often - well before Covid. Usually when the passing lane is taken up. I'm glad you weren't hurt!

In this case, they could easily have passed on the left. The highway was going from four to two lanes and a car was trying to merge using an onramp. Passing on the right seemed habitual to them, though in this case also vaguely suicidal.
