It's a lovely day to stand in a river. I'm in a gap in the riverside wall of the Nent, digging out the rubble of the collapsed wall so that I can get down to a solid base and rebuild it.

Looking vertically down into a small river. There are brown stones in the river bed and my legs and feet are in the picture. I'm wearing a dark blue waterproof suit and steel toed wellingtons. Water is not much above my ankles. It's a sunny day.

Of course, as I dig, up comes fine silt, making progress slow as I can't see what needs to come out next. Just as well I'm not charging by the metre.

Looking down into the river Nent, the riverbed is obscured by silt billowing up from digging and levering out stones with a pinch bar.
