All of this because—checks notes—he didn’t think the US had adequately beneficial trade deals.

We shall be RATEFUL that he did it! Today everybody can see that the the internationalization is leaving the "old industrialized countries" behind. If the present economic understanding prevails the downturn will continue until we socially and economically are on a par with China, and by then they have already taken over the world dominance. The west will decline as Classic Grece, the Roman empire, Classic China and so many other great historic cultures.
We are still the most advanced economies creating the most advanced ideas, but we can only avoid that bleak future, if we secure our advanced ideas through a new idea exchange system - "Idesamfundet" https://videnskabeligindsigt.blogspot.com/2011/01/idesamfundet.html Or in english https://unifiedscience.blogspot.com/
