Trump wants to privatize, deprive special needs and nearly everyone else of a quality, free education. It’s about racism, power, control, and busting unions.

Via Kyle Griffin:

just signed an executive order directing Education Secretary Linda McMahon to start dismantling the Department of Education.

The complete elimination of the department would require the approval of Congress.

@GottaLaff I called my Republican Members of Congress this afternoon about this and other issues. They split the city, so I don't have any Democratic Party representation this year. :(

@GottaLaff - dunno, given that a Federal DoEdu under Trump and Project 2025 would not be functioning to do tasks like bringing suits to States if they don't serve special needs kids, nor would it likely distribute fairly Pell Grants or other loans, might as well shut it all down so it doesn't work just forcing Blue States to comply with their theocratic agenda, while still sucking up dollars.

@GottaLaff I hope the spring and summer will be warm in right places and cool in right places, because the people will be spending a lot of time on the streets.

@GottaLaff uneducated people are more compliant

@bgrinter That's why I mentioned "control"

@GottaLaff yeah - don’t even know to question. Accept any bullshit they’re told

@GottaLaff @bgrinter
What’s absolute madness is that you would think businesses would be up in arms about this. The workforce depends on education.

@GottaLaff Looks like congress does not exist anymore, it moves everything by decree, Anyone sees similarities ?

@GottaLaff I just watched the video of him signing EO using kids as props. My question in the follow the money game is just who is behind privatizing education? My state legislature voted in voucher system without any public discussion except in the legislative session.
We are not a melting pot.

@Doeshecook Privatizing education has been a goal of the GOP for decades.
