I am here today to urge Canadians to avoid travel to the United States if at all possible and to call on our government to stand up for our citizens who are being denied their rights through arbitrary detention in the United States.

2/ Canadian MP Charlie Angus: Oh, poor Pierre. He has been endorsed by every MAGA right-wing voice that supports Donald #Trump. But what Donald Trump is realizing is that getting an endorsement from him is political death in Canada.
Pierre #Poilievre is MAGA.
New word for him:
MAGAjacent.
Carney should make an inherently condescending speech, in which he "Accepts Mr. Poilievre's word that he is 'not MAGA', unquote...but, come on, folks, with the Convoy Coffee and the paranoia about foreigners, he's definitely MAGAjacent"

That applies to those who are actually full-on MAGA.
I admit this is a spectrum, but at some point you cross a line from "adjacent', to "member'. Anti-Vax is a killer for me, but you've totally crossed the line when you even hint at violence as Trump does constantly.
That would put Danielle, fr'instance, at toes-on-the-red-line, but she's never hinted violence or said vax don't work.
"The Left" had to go through this with "Pink" instead of "Red" through the Red Scare.
My system rates these as increasingly adjacent:
1) Poilievre with declinism ("We're broken") and foreigner paranoia (WEF).
2) Kenney with "War Room" systematic lying, vax-softness.
3) Smith with all that only more anti-vax and conspiracy-paranoid.
4) Rustad in BC - toes over the line saying vaccines might be harmful.
Ford, I'm not sure, might be less-adjacent than Poilievre. More "MAGA-fearful" with his hiding-out during the Convoy.
Ford is just an old fashioned conservative with questionable aims but really doesn't like MAGA in the slightest.
PP's right hand happens to be besties with JD Vance from Yale ... so I hardly thing he's adjacent, just more Canadian - nice polite and boring about it, but not really. And his 3 word slogans and name calling - that's pure trump to me
@GottaLaff Trump’s cone of ignorance doesn’t work quite as well in Canada, but some (conservatives) work hard on it.
Interestingly the first “maga” I ever met was in BC Canada. In September 2016 I was on a tour & a bus took us to Butchart Gardens. The Canadian bus driver was a big trump fan!
