The NATCA (National Air Traffic Controllers Association) released this statement in response to ’s baseless allegations that Wednesday’s aviation tragedy was partly due to DEI initiatives at the F.A.A.

Air traffic controllers earn the prestigious and elite status of being a fully certified professional controller after successfully completing a series of rigorous training milestones. The standards to achieve certification are not based onrace or gender. The proud men and women that comprise the nations aviation safety professionals bear the immense responsibility of ensuring the safety and efficiency of the national airspace system, while working short-staffed, often 6 days a week, and in facilities long overdue for modernization. We are committed to working with President Trump to recruit the best and brightest, while addressing critical issues like pay, benefits, and the mounting stresses that come with this demanding job. @GottaLaff looks like air traffic controllers are vastly better vetted and trained for their jobs than US Presidents or Cabinet nominees/ members. Funny how #TheFelonInChief, who has no training or certifications in any field keeps telling us he is all knowing ... From how to set interest rates to why accidents happened, he knows it all.
