#Topaz users:
I'm getting a lot of good out of #DeNoise but so far I'm underwhelmed with #Sharpen. IDK if I'm just feeding it files that it can't handle, or I need to play with it more, or if it isn't really All That.
What's your experience with Sharpen?

@CP93 sharpen can be fantastic on the right image, after noise reduction is applied heavily.
I've noticed it does well on astrophotography foregrounds. Rocks and stuff.
Also I've seen it do incredible things to soft faces from low res images.
Sharpen and Gigapixel can do an extremely good job on restoration type jobs.

I'm using LrC and Ps, as well as Ps Elements for quick (i.e., lazy) fixes. I've used The GIMP in the past but never really clicked with it, pun not intended.

@CP93
when you've come from pShop, gimp seems counter-intuitive. I'm having issues with automation - not built in.
I remember in pShop, I sat down and made loads of my own presets for common sharpens, filters, resizes etc, so they were all there ready saving vast amounts of time. It's worth spending a few hours to do that if you can: does topaz have some way of remembering user presets?

I only just started using it, but afaik it does not. Then again, it's basically a plugin for Lr/Ps (although it does work standalone as well). I haven't messed with the full suite, only DeNoise (which I recommend) and a trial version of Sharpen (which has been underwhelming so far, but IDK if I'm doing it right).
