@AriM depends on the app you're using, I suppose. I use the MetaText app on iPhone, and it's pretty simple to use. Other than that, the browser view of Mastodon is actually pretty nice too - the search is top left.
@benfan thanks. Using Android. I'm not even sure which app I'm on. Originally installed the Android app from the Play store, but then mstdn.social (my server) had me install a different app upon sighnup. Top left has the Mastodon logo and goes to "Home." Search is nowhere in sight...
@AriM Ahh, unfortunately I can’t be of more help. Maybe it’s on the bottom or there’s some kind of sidebar that will pop out? Downloading another Mastodon app (vouching for MetaText here) may be a difference maker for your user experience!
@benfan thanks again for your help. Reinstalled Mastodon for Android and I think I'm good. Looks a lot like Twitter.
